On the nose, notes of black cherry, kirsch, pomegranate, and cranberry make up the melange of red fruits. Savory notes of black tea, gun flint, and blood orange add intrigue. The tannins are tea like with some subtle grip but not overpowering. The flavors echo the red fruits on the nose along with flavors of black mission fig, baking spices, sage, and a flinty minerality reminiscent of the great wines of Gigondas. Acidity is bright, refreshing and mouth watering. Should age gracefully for 8-10 years.
